Medical Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
Medical assistants complete clinical and administrative tasks and jobs. They take patient history and measure vital signs, help the physician with patient examinations, give patient injections as directed by the physician, schedule patient appointments, and prepare blood for laboratory tests. Assistants need to learn the EHR software that their office uses. They need to keep information confidential and only discuss it with other medical personnel. Medical assistants have different duties depending on their medical field.
Salary:
$28,860 per year
$13.87 per hour
Education:
Nor formal education training is required but most have at least a high school diploma. Biology, chemistry and anatomy should be taken as a high school student if interested. Programs are available from community colleges, vocational schools, technical schools, or universities and take about 1 year to complete. These programs usually lead to a certificate or diploma. Some community and junior colleges offer 2-year programs that lead to an associate’s degree. They have on-the-job training and although no certificate is needed most employers prefer those that do.

I think I would like to be a medical assistant because I want to help people and assist their needs.
