Attitude is the mind’s paintbrush. It can color any situation.
-Anon

I think that attitude is a very powerful thing we have within us. It gives us some control on how we see a situation, and eventually how we act on it. Our mind can make us or break us. It’s our choice on how we decide to act when a problem or opportunity is presented to us. If I move, I rather think of it as a new chapter in my life rather than a negative thing.

Attitude

Attitude is a point of view that you have towards someone or something. It can either be positive or negative and maybe in between. It’s your outlook on a subject, person, pace , thing, or event.
The following words are synonyms of “attitude”:
  1. 1.       view
  2. 2.       viewpoint
  3. 3.       outlook
  4. 4.        perspective
  5. 5.       stance
  6. 6.       standpoint
  7. 7.       position
  8. 8.        inclination
  9. 9.        temper
  10. 10.    orientation
  11. 11.   approach
  12. 12.   reaction

An example of a bad attitude is one of defiance. If I am asked to get out of my seat and refuse to do so, that is an example of a bad attitude.

An example of a good attitude is looking at the Brightside. If I hear prom is coming up and I encourage people to go then that is an example of a good attitude.

“He who walks with the wise turns wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”
-A Proverb

The people that I surround myself with are a representation of my judgment and who I am. I know I should only associate myself with people who I can learn from and be proud to be around. I know that whatever they do, I will love to be a part of it because it is productive. I don’t want to be dragged down by the wrong crowd. We can help each other succeed in life and with that form a bigger bond.

“You can’t hire someone else to do your push-ups for you.”
-Jim Rohn

I think that this is trying to show that whatever you want to accomplish in life you have to do yourself. There is no shame in asking for help but in the end whatever you accomplish you should have gotten by your own efforts to be able to feel proud of it. It would be much easier if it were the latter but the sense of achievement is much greater when you have to work hard for it yourself. If I want to become a really good singer I cannot have someone sing for me. No. I have to make the effort to practice and then I can have a sense of accomplishment and feel better about who I am.

Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was a man of great integrity. He was called “Honest Abe”. When on a ride with a colonel, he was offered alcohol and tobacco. He refused. He explained that on her deathbed, he made a promise to his mother when he was nine years old  that he would never consume whiskey or tobacco. Until then he had kept his promise. The colonel respected Abraham Lincoln even more for not breaking it after all of those years. This shows that one must not tempt another and that one must not be tempted.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness.”
-Joseph B. Wirthlin

I think that we as human beings like the feeling of choosing the right because it reminds us that we can’t possibly stay the only good in the world if we spread it around. When we do something good and someone sees and understand all we are doing is being an example of a great force that can be made even greater if we continue to add on to the chain. If we are already on the realm of success, being kind and sharing what you already have (whether it be advice or support) can make a gigantic difference in a person’s life. It might even take you to success!

“Manners maketh man.”
-William of Wykeham

The way we act in public and how we present ourselves is vital to our success in a functioning society. At a young age we should be taught to respect those we meet and carry ourselves we confidence. We work for what is right and what is right makes us worthy if we take action upon what we know to correct. If I am rude and improper to those I meet, we that kind of person does that make me? It makes me one who will not go far because I don’t know how to show the world that I am a respectful individual. If I show I have good manners, people will have no problem interacting with me and I will be able to show my talents.
