“I will persist until I succeed”
-Og Mandino
(Author of the “Greatest Salesman in the World”)

Persistence is the only sure way to get what you want. The characteristics of  a talented person will not shine through if you don’t try over and over again to get what you want. I will stop after I achieve  my goal, and go again after I have made another one.  Don’t give up on yourself. You can do it. If you have a gift then let the world see. If I don’t understand my homework I will keep on trying to understand until I do.

Student Success Statement

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than successful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
-President Calvin Coolidge
30th president of the U.S.

I think that this means that the most reliable thing that will take you to what you want is to always try and never give up. Many men are talented, have great education, and are genius but do not succeed because they don’t try. Persistence is one and only. Nothing can replace it. You can’t go around it. If you want to achieve things you need to persist. You can have the skills but it doesn’t really matter if you don’t do anything with them. If I want to become an actress, I will take small parts and even get pie thrown at my face. Lucille Ball style (;

I think that this means that after we build our goals that we need to go on to do more. Dreams are just dreams until you make them happen. No you probably will not achieve them overnight. What you need is persistence. You can’t give up. Keep yup a good attitude and strive for what you want. Invision you making it happen and practice. Then you will turn the impossible into possible.

“The answers to these questions will determine your success or failure:
    N. C. State football coach Lou Holtz
  1. 1.        Can people trust me to do what is right?
  2. 2.       Am I committed to doing my very best?
  3. 3.       Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?

If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail.”
-Lou Holtz

Having a strong sense of morality is needed to make people trust you. I can be trusted to do what is right because I believe in what is correct. Giving your best will guarantee success and nothing less because you did what you had to do and maybe even went beyond. I always try my best because that is what I’m worth and what people deserve. The Golden Rule is very important. I treat people how I want to be treated because I always think of them first and put myself in their position.

The Importance of Physical Fitness

President Kennedy expressed his wishes and hopes that in the future the American people will be active and healthy. We are living longer and its in our best interest to live life to the fullest. We need to be active and healthy so we can lead the nation as an example of those who extend their lives with happiness. I will obstain from choosing the wrong and putting in my body those illegal or legal substances that will harm me physically and mentally. I will stick to values at all times and try to become a more active individual with a purpose to empower others.

Student Success Statement

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew:that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."
-John F. Kennedy

A healthy body has many components. Two are mental and physical fitness. One must have a healthy mind to have a sound body and understand what is beneficial for us and what is harmful. The beneficial being a healthy diet and exercise and the negative being no activity or healthy diet. If we take care of those then our intelligence and alertness will be at its peak. They depend on each other.

“No student ever attains eminent success by simply doing what is required of him/her, it is the amount of excellence of what is over and above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction”
-Charles Kendall Adams, American Historian

Doing what is expected of you isn’t a bad thing. Meeting people’s expectations is a good thing of course. But what will really get you noticed is going above and beyond.  It shows that you are capable of greater things and that your talent has no limit. Being different than others doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It should be praised when doing incredible things.

“Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anyone else expects of you. Never excuse yourself.”
-Henry Ward Beecher

We can do so much in our life. We have the capability to go above and beyond expectations. That is a guaranteed way to be successful. Don’t just barely meet the standard or get close to it but go beyond it. Excuses are just things people decide to bring up when they don’t feel capable of doing what they are supposed to all they bring is shame and failure. I can work against my struggles and become a better person.

Progress Report

So right now I'm not really crossing off anything. The reason I'm saying that is because many goals that I'm working on are those that I practice ever single day. I don't believe I am ever truly done so I don't think I'll ever cross them off. Now that i think about it...I might do a completely different section in my notebook on goals that I will work on everyday. I also visualize me accomplishing my goals every day sometimes longer than two minutes. It really does fill me up with both joy and hope.

Student Success Statement

“Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get.”
-Mark Victor Hansen

I think that this means that the foundation of achieving true happiness is identifying what it is that you want. You need to know what you’re working for because having nothing to work for doesn't fill the mind up with hope or illusion. Identify what you want and hustle for it. If  I want to be a doctor...I will. I will get it because I know what I want.

A high school diploma and GED are required. Programs vary from one to two years. Students receive training in medical terminology, physiology, and sterilization methods. Students must pass an examination by the Association of Surgical Technologists to become certified.
Reflection:
I think I would be okay with pursuing this as a career as it seems simple.
